Guide To Marking Of Referee's Match Performance

GUIDE TO THE MARKING OF REFEREE'S MATCH PERFORMANCE


An overall mark is to be allocated after considering the Referee's;
CONTROL
APPLICATION OF THE LAWS
EXERCISE OF AUTHORITY including Personality and Personal Appearance.

All aspects of performance will have been considered, but it is most important to note that the basis of the mark is CONTROL.

GENERAL CONTROL
Including confidence, satisfactorily dealing with major incidents.

APPLICATION OF LAWS
Including correctness of decisions, clear signals, good positioning, fitness and advantage.

MARK GUIDE COMMENT
100 A faultless performance
90 First class match control with correct application of Laws and imposition of authority
80 A good performance with adequate level of control
70 An adequate performance with some minor defects which could be rectified if advice is heeded
60 A below par performance showing defects which need to be remedied in order to achieve adequacy
50 An inadequate performance showing a lack of control and imposition of authority
40 A poor performance, seriously lacking in control

40 or less - A written report is required and MUST be enclosed with the result form.
