Tragic Loss

1965 - 2012

it is with great sadness that we report the tragic and sudden death of Hemsworth Miners Welfare FC Club Secretary Mark Crapper.

Mark gave everything to football for over 30 years and the game will be so much poorer without him.

Hemsworth's game against Teversal on 28th April has been cancelled as a mark of respect and the opposition have kindly agreed to reverse the fixture and play at Hemsworth on Tuesday 1st May. The fixture will be dedicated to Mark's memory and everyone is invited to go along and celebrate the life of this truly dedicated football man.

There will be a minute's silence/applause before all of Wakefield Sunday League's matches tomorrow as a mark of respect.

Our thoughts are with Mark's family and friends at this difficult and terribly sad time.

Please visit Hemsworth Miners Welfare's website for details of the memorial match and funeral arrangements.
